Sina was born in Iran, moving around several times, living in Toronto, Indiana, Oregon, and California. He attended UC Berkeley where he studied both Psychology and Molecular Biology. He then went to Albert Einstein College of Medicine for medical school, before moving to Louisville for Residency.

In Louisville, Sina uses his time to explore the city with his resident friends (don’t you see the pictures?!), playing soccer in a recreational league, cooking a range of meals, and recreating craft cocktails he’s learned along the way.

Sina enjoys the hands-on nature of UofL’s Ophthalmology program and the family-like environment of the residency. Coming here, he didn’t know anyone in the area, but his support network has grown with everyone here. He’s excited by the large surgical volume and hands-on experiences the program provides. Between call and our case-load, he gets plenty of opportunities to expand his procedural skills. Sina is excited to explore sub-specialties in his PGY3 and is considering pursuing a cornea fellowship.
