Andy is from Palatine, Illinois and went to the University of Minnesota for his undergraduate education. He moved to Chicago for medical school at Northwestern before coming down to Louisville to complete his Residency training. Andy was drawn to the University of Louisville for its exceptional surgical training and outstanding educational program.

Between work and studying, Andy loves to run and has completed three marathons including Boston. Moving to Louisville has helped Andy continue his running and other outdoor activities with the endless running trails and hiking areas throughout the city and nearby reserves. Andy also loves exploring new restaurants and has loved all of the diverse food options that Louisville has to offer.

When Andy has down time, he enjoys going on long walks and spending time with his fiancé, Trang, his corgi, Winston, and his cat, Ollie. He also loves to travel, look for new experiences, and he has visited several countries across Europe and Asia. Heading into the new year, Andy is excited to continue learning more about Ophthalmology, get married, and teach his puppy Winston some new tricks!
